This two-day workshop will put the pelvis into focus, approaching it through a both anatomical and experiential perspective.
The idea is to review the anatomical architecture of the pelvis, its bony and myofascial structures, in such a way that visual images will be combined with movement practices, aiming to develop body awareness of the participants.
Evolving from very subtle and simple movements to a little more complex ones, the methodology will gradually build a stronger kinesthetic sense of the core and an embodied knowing on how to engage it during dynamic activities.
Professional dancer and Teacher at the Dance School of the Federal University of Bahia (Brazil), Beatriz holds a PhD in Performing Arts. Her main fields of research are the interlacements between Dance and Somatic Education as well the studies on perception within the context of creative practices. She has been a Gyrotonic® Master trainer since 2011 and, apart from preparing new practitioners on the method, has been conducting courses and workshops where she combines experiential anatomy, Gyrotonic® principles and poetic movement experiences. Her work creates an intimate dialogue between art, health and education.
This workshop is intended for therapists of different disciplines who wish to learn, research and deepen their knowledge and understanding of the pelvic region from the experiancial movement perspective
